Alfred Papineau Obituary

Alfred Raymond Papineau Jr., 82, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband of the late Carol (Russell) Papineau, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Atrium in Rocky Hill. He was born in Hartford, on January 22, 1939, a son of Alfred Papineau Sr. and Beatrice (Beaumont) Papineau. Alfred was a graduate of Wethersfield High School and Hartford State Tech. He was a veteran of the US Army National Guard. He had worked at the Burrough's Corporation and later went on to work at General Electric where he finished out his career as a Field Tech Engineer. He loved traveling with his family, spending time on the beach in Cape Cod, and family trips to Florida to visit Disney. He also was a car buff and enjoyed not only fixing cars but also teaching his daughters how to fix their own cars. In his free time, Alfred enjoyed playing pool, cards or just catching up with his friends. In his retirement he was a dedicated family man and looked forward to weekly family get togethers, sharing good food, laughter and an ice cold Budweiser. He leaves behind a son, Raymond A. Papineau of Vernon; two daughters, Christine A. Papineau and her partner Christopher Bachteler of Wethersfield, and Jeanne P. Cohen of Wethersfield; grandchildren, Dylan R. Cohen of Rocky Hill, Sydney A. Cohen of Rocky Hill, and Ethan A. Jowdy of Wethersfield; a niece, Debra S. Newrith of South Windsor and his beloved dog, Amber. He was predeceased by a sister, Janet P. Sumera and his two dogs, Pookie and Sammy. A graveside service will be held on Monday September 27, 2021 at 1PM in the Rose Hill Memorial Park, 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers donations in Alfred's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 200 Executive Blvd. S #4B, Southington, CT. 06489. Dear Papineau Family
I knew and worked with Al since the early days at Burroughs. We often shared stories of our early days training in Detroit. Al was a sincere guy who you could always count on. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

I´m Very sorry to hear of Al passing . The first memory that comes to mind is a huge tree falling on a mustang convertible. Rides on a skidoo and an orange Honda.
Big red.., And those cold ones

Loved the idea of giving back to the Earth, so planting trees in my uncle´s memory was a fitting tribute. I remember him in his youngest days as a lover of hobbies both outdoor and inside, and he his dry sense of humor was always appreciated in my world. Celebrate the good memories.
