We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always.

Mr. & Mrs. Mealy:
I am home visiting my family and my sister told me about Alice's passing. I am sorry to learn about your loss. I had known Alice since kindergarten all the way up through high school. Our lockers were always next to each other. I knew she was going to college in Alaska and lost track after that. I remember her being quiet and funny, athletic and smart -- someone who got along well with everyone. My heart goes out to you and her daughters. Fondly, Kimberly (Meyerhardt) Warnick

To the Mealy family and friends,
This quote came to mind as we heard of Alice's passing....
...and think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched. For nothing loved is ever lost- and she was loved so much...
We hope that you will always feel the encouragement of her love, her laughter, her zest for life and hold in your memory all the happy times you spent together.

Walt & Marilyn and Family. I am so saddened by the loss of a truly remarable woman. Alice came into my life as a tiny 6th grader with the biggest heart. She was so courageous, so tough so beautiful. Alice was on my first ever girls cross country team at Timothy Edwards. We recently had our 30th year reunion along with Joan Mirabelli, Maureen Duclos Bolden, Rene Veilleux, and Linda Pavone. On the 30th year of the Timothy Edwards Girls Crosss Country Team Awards evening Alice gave a wonderful speech about what Cross Country meant to her. Alice also created a model of my first home, It sits now in my living room and not a day will go by that Alice will not be in my thoughts and in my heart. I shall miss her dearly and I shall treasure my memories of the gift she was. 1436 Mr B

Mr/Mrs Mealy, and Mike, How fast the years past before us..I grew up near Alice and attented school with her, I remember her as a sweet, soft spoken person. And found it very cool she went up to Alaska after graduating high school. How sad I was to hear what happen to her and her daughters as I was visiting Alaska. Just east of Fairbanks ,where Alice attended college I left a couple of tears for her in a glacier fed stream. as I hiked to the bottom of the glacier, and prayed for my old friend and her daughter's. On July 4, I said goodbye , and Happy independence day from Denali Park, Alaska.

Dear Erica & Shannon,
I am so very sorry and saddened to hear about your loss.
I worked with your Uncle Tom & your grandparents Walt & Marilyn when I used to live in CT.
I never met Alice, but heard so much about her through Walt, Marilyn, & Tom. I have read a lot about her lately, and the remembrances of those who knew her & whose lives she touched. She was really an amazing and remarkable woman. You should be so proud to have had her as a mother.
Many people are greiving with you right now.
Everyone has you two girls in their thoughts and prayers.
I have my own son, who is almost eight, and my heart just aches for you girls. A parent's love goes very deep, and you will always have her love in your hearts and your memories...her love for you will never die.
My deepest sympathies to you.

To the entire Mealy family,
I am so sad to write this note of condolences. Alice should not have died at such a young age. Learning about her adult life, she was a very successful woman. Her daughters have lost a very precious mom. Her daughters have Walt and Marilyn as wonderful grandparents as well as many wonderful aunts and uncles to help them along. Growing up with the entire Mealy family, Alice will forever be in my memory of a wonderful childhood. I do remember all the wonderful kickball games, a vacation at the lake, swimming at the Ota's and Spring pond. Mr and Mrs Mealy take strength in knowing Alice was loved by many and that you brought up 6 fabulous kids as well as having a great influence on all the kids in the neighborhood. The memory of Alice will live on, she touch so many lives.
Love

I was very shocked when I read that Alice was your younger sister. finding out that we live just a few streets down from her here in Vernon. Although I didn't know her, Tom, I still remember our times at SWHS. My condolences to your entire family and prayers for your sister go out to all of you.
At my Aunt Maureen's birthday, Aunt Alice wrote cute waiter on the comments card, which made us all (her sisters and nieces) laugh so hard

My words are at a lost about what has happened to Alice and her family. I just got done looking through my yearbook and there is Alice in the center of the gymnastics picture with that beautiful smile. Alice has that smile that you can't forget and no one will forget you Alice. Forever in our hearts. May you find peace. To Alice's family I wish you all strength, hope and peace and may god bless you all. Patty Anthony Antonaras

Dear Morrin and Mealy Families,
It is difficult for me to convey the sorrow that I feel for your loss. Having grown up as neighbors and spending many hours playing together, I have many fond memories of Alice being one of the smallest kids, but one of the fastest, for her size, in just about everything that we played! I remember Alice as always having a smile on her face. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Should your travels ever bring you to Colorado, please remember you have a friend in Golden with whom you can stay.

To the Morrin/Mealy Family,
I am a faithful viewer of Fox 61 news and was so saddened to hear of this tragedy that took Alice away from her two beautiful girls, her family and many friends. From all that has been said and written about her, this world is a darker place because she has left it. She was a bright star in life. You're all in my thoughts and prayers for strength and healing.

I was lucky enough to have grown up across the street from Alice. Being 10 years older, she could have easily ignored me altogether but she did quite the opposite. She took me under her wing and was so FUN. I have many good memories of going to Spring Pond with her, sitting next to her as she nervously called a boy in high school she was interested in, how she introduced me to horror movies way too early :) and I have loved them ever since. I visited her in California and she was the perfect hostess, taking me to see many beautiful sights and meet new people. I can picture her now, smiling, sitting with Grandma Mealy and her dog Brandy in heaven. She accomplished so much goodness in her short life, and her memory forever lives on.

Dear Mealy Family: Alice and I spent a couple of years as best friends in high school. I remember this: she and I would plan to meet each other half way between our houses and run back together. She always ran past the half way mark. She always had more to give.
Like she did for almost everyone she met, she encouraged me, she motivated me, she humored me, she strengthened me. I wish I could give her more in return.
Heaven must have needed a beautiful soul. God bless you, Alice. God bless you, Mealy family.

Words cannot express the sorrow and anguish I am feeling over this tragedy. I personally knew Alice growing up in South Windsor. We graduated high school together. She was a great kid. Although time passed and we went our own ways, it seems like just yesterday we were sitting in class together behaving silly as usual. I can remember how excited she was to tell us she was going to school in Alaska. The memories we shared will remain in my heart forever. And now, to hear all of her wonderful accomplishments as an adult is so gratifying. Alice is now an angel in heaven looking over her two beautiful daughters. I know she is at peace knowing her children are in the hands of her wonderful, loving family.
God Bless,

I heard the news a few hours ago and I just can't stop thinking about Alice. My fondest memory was her incredible athletic ability. I remember completing the tasks for the "Presidential Heath Program" that President Carter started in elementary school. She blew us all away in everything! None of us had a chance. Alice took off like a bandit for every race and I specifically remember, as if it were yesterday, when we had to hold our chins above the parellel bar for as long as we could. We all stayed on for all of ten seconds. But not Alice, she hung onto that bar for over a minute maybe even two. Her body was physically shaking from exhaustion but she wasn't going to let go of that bar. I just watched her in awe. I am truely saddened by the news. My heart goes out to her family and close friends. -with the deepest compassion and love,

Although I never met your daughter, I lived in Vernon for many years and have two daughters myself. My heart goes out to you and your family. I watched a snipit the other night from Alice's coworkers on Fox 61 news. That was so touching, all the beautiful things they said about Alice and how kindhearted she was and how many lives she touched even for those of us that never had a opportunity to meet her. Please know the world was a better place because of Alice and her spirit will go on through her daughters.
