Amy McMahon Obituary



Amy (Chase) McMahon, 40, of West Hartford, beloved wife of Shawn P. McMahon, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Holyoke, MA, she spent her childhood summers in Weekapaug, RI where she developed her love for the beach and ocean. Amy graduated from Stoneleigh-Burnham School in 1992 and received her BA from the University of Hartford in 1999. She had been employed by Winn Property Management until her marriage to Shawn in 2009. A vibrant and loving wife, she loved spending time with Shawn at their cottage at Quonnie in Charlestown, RI as well as dancing, music, and fashion. She adored animals, especially her Yellow Lab, Murphy. Besides Murphy and Shawn, she leaves her mother Cheryl (Parks) Chase and her dad Richard Chase of Bloomfield; her father William Lipton of Somers, Paternal grandmother Eleanor Lipton of Somers; maternal grandfather Robert Parks of Enfield; Shawn's family including parents Janice and Nicholas Stimac and James and Ellen McMahon; and Shawn's grandmother Hester Stimac; her brother Daniel Mark Lipton of San Francisco; a brother David Lipton of Somers ; a sister Sarah Elyse Lipton of Enfield; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 from 2-6 PM at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. Her funeral service will be Monday, December 22, 2014, 11 AM at the First Baptist Church, 90 North Main Street, West Hartford. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to The Educational Fund for Olivia & Avery Pontes, c/o Karen Nista Penwood REIM 755 Main St. Hartford Ct. 06103.
