Annie Lee (Lockhart) Wilson, 68, of Hartford, entered eternal rest on Wednesday July 28, 2021. Annie was born in Hartford, CT, December 6, 1952, daughter of the late Willie and Canziza Lockhart, and graduated from Hartford Public High School. Annie had a love and passion for serving others, which carried on into her professional life. She was employed for many years as an Administrative Assistant with the State of Connecticut until her retirement. Annie was a devoted sister, cousin, friend, and confidant to many. She will always be remembered for her comedic acts, overall sense of humor, and a smile that would brighten up any room she entered. Her heart was filled with kindness and compassion for everyone she knew. Annie enjoyed singing, picnicking, and cooking meals, especially soul food. More than anything, she loved spending quality time with her family and friends and leaves a legacy of beautiful memories that she has planted in their hearts. Annie was also a proud member of the Black Panther Party. Annie was a God-fearing woman who had a committed relationship with God and was also a devoted prayer warrior and intercessor. When you saw her, she would often be giving a word of encouragement and empowering others. She was faithful in studying her Bible and listening to her favorite music. Annie leaves to cherish her memories, three sisters, Cassie Cooper of East Hartford, Nancy Frederick and her husband Charles of Hartford, and Elizabeth Lockhart of Hartford; five brothers, Otis Lockhart and his wife Betty of Hartford, John Lockhart of Hartford, Willie Lockhart, Jr. of Hartford, Curtis Lockhart and his wife Audrey of East Hartford, and James Lockhart and his wife Althea of Hartford; her trusted friend, Michael Harris of Vernon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Her family will receive friends Friday August 6, 2021 10am-11am with a celebration of life to follow at Greater Joy Mission, 49 Charter Oak Ave, Hartford, CT.
