Anthony J. Bachiocchi

Anthony Joseph Bachiocchi of Jefferson, NC died September 11, 2016 at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy May Burrell Bachiocchi, who was married to him for 61 years. He is also survived by his grandson Matthew Bachiocchi of Crumpler, NC, a brother Joseph Bachiochi of Rockville, CT and a sister-in-law Stella Bloniarz Bachiochi of West Jefferson, NC. Mr. Bachiocchi was predeceased by his sons Allan and Craig Bachiocchi, a sister Olga Bachiochi Phillip, his brother Leo Bachiochi, a brother-in-law Norman Phillip and sister-in-law Kathy Gessay Bachiochi. He also leaves behind several cousins, nephews and nieces. Mr. Bachiocchi was born in Stafford Springs, CT and was the son of the late Aldo and Mary Witinok Bachiochi. He moved to Rockville, CT in his early years and graduated from St. Bernard's Catholic School and Rockville High School. He lived in Rockville, Tolland and Willington, CT. After leaving CT he lived in Sebastion, FL, Marlborough, NH and Norwood, CO before moving to Jefferson, NC. Anthony was a Telecommunication Engineer and worked for Sonocor (SNET), ITT, Northern Telecommunications and Sprint United. While working for ITT he worked on the "Twin Towers" in NY and helped with the World Trade Centers in Russia and Argentina. With Northern he was Manager of their MA division. He retired from Sonocor/SNET, ITT and Sprint United. He was a life time member of the Italian Friendship Club of Tolland, CT and the Italian Social Club of Rockville, CT. He was a member of the VFW and the NRA. He served aboard the USS Andromeda, AKA 15 and was involved during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed traveling with his wife Dottie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Rockville, CT on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10 am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
