Anthony Santopietro Obituary

"Loving husband, father, grandfather, son & brother"

Anthony J. Santopietro, 67, of Vernon, formerly of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Cheryl (Upton) Santopietro.

Anthony was born on April 11, 1956, son of Vilma Santopietro and the late Donald L. Santopietro. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. Anthony worked as a master chef for the West Side Marketplace in Rocky Hill for 20 years. After his retirement in 2022, Anthony volunteered at Flo's Friendship Kitchen in Stafford Springs. He enjoyed flea markets, tag sales and liked to watch vintage TV shows. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, flamingos, vintage toys, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Besides his wife, Cheryl and mother, Vilma, Anthony leaves behind to cherish and honor his memory; his children, Clarissa Santopietro and her wife, Erica of East Haven, Kara Santopietro and her husband, Saul Lopez of Clinton, Alyssa Shultz and her husband, Richard Jr. of East Haven, Caitlin Pavone and her husband, Dylan of East Haven, Bianca Zacharias of North Haven, Ben Green and his wife Amber of Lebanon, Brandon Green and his wife Emma of North Windham, and Brianna Poulin and her husband, Lance of Stafford Springs; and seven grandchildren, Kaylib Green, Ethan Lopez, Nikolas Shultz, Gianna Lopez, Shelby Green, Robert Green and Liam Shultz. He also leaves behind his siblings, Julie Cardoso and her husband, Augie of Plymouth, Donna Bryk and Alan Santopietro and his fiancée, Danyale Hubbard all of Waterbury; and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Anthony E. Bryk.

Arrangements: Calling hours for Anthony will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
