To the Savino Family,
I had the honor and pleasure of knowing Tony for the past 10 years. I met him when we both were part of a consortium. I then go to work at the casino and low and behold, there was his twin brother (so I thought) Major. The two of them had me going for a long time until one of them came clean. I then had the pleasure of crossing paths with him at Ingraham Manor where he and Dee would visit often always bringing a smile to everyone. He always stopped in and gave me a big hug. I just loved listening to the stories he had, looking at all the pictures of his family and just loved to laugh with him. Tony, you will be missed by so many people but your generosity and memory will live on forever.

I often saw CSM Savino in the S&S or at the gas station, or anywhere here in Bristol. He always, always had a smile and a kind word. Dear Dee, Cathy, Ralph, Becky, Elise

To say we are saddened by Tony passing is an understatement. Although his passing was expected, we prayed for a miracle. Tony was bigger than life and will leave an enormous void in many lives. Dee, Al & I have many great memories with you & Tony. Our most cherished is our first meeting on our honeymoon at the Casa Blanca Hotel in Miami Fla.48years ago. The fact that we married on the same day, the same hour created a bond between us and will always remain. Of course I will always remember our trip home from L.I. Our saddist is not being with you and the family to share in the celebration of Tony's life. Please know, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
We love you, Rita & Al

Dear Command Sergeant Major Savino:

I would like to forward my condolences to you and your family, especially Dee, Cathy and Ralph (Tony, Jr.), along with your countless friends and subordinates around the great state of Connecticut, on your accession into Heaven. You have left behind a family full of believers and followers in your path, something your brethren and relatives will never forget. I feel we have a few things in common, namely your proud daughter Cathy, our military service, our love for life and people in general, and our mutual connection with Italy.

You should be, and probably are, so very proud of your daughter Cathy’s career. She is one of the good people in the television industry, and, without question, one of my best friends, even though we have never worked together in the same building or for the same company. Her support of our mission at the American Forces Network has and continues to go above and beyond the normal call of citizenship. Cathy has most gracefully adopted your passion to create friendships as she has done so with people from around the globe. Your daughter has also, like you, never met a stranger with whom she hasn’t quickly made friends. She is you, and you are her.

As a decorated veteran in service to your country, I salute you with all my heart for your countless contributions, sacrifices and dedication to duty during your active career with the Connecticut Army National Guard. It is solid citizen-soldiers like you, who place themselves last and others first, that have kept our nation safe against those who want to deny us of our freedom.
Your many years of service, both in uniform and as a sitting member on the City Council of Bristol, have left many with an abundance of warm memories of your reverent smile and can-do spirit with which they will never forget. Your eagerness to strike up a conversation on various topics and to, overall, be an uplifting part of their day, is the benchmark by which others should strive. I could’ve learned a lot from you during my early days in uniform had I served under you.
Your life has changed, but has not ended. We cherish and respect your passage to a newer and fuller life with eternal union with God. May your family, friends, community and country pay you honor this day as you were, and will continue to be, a truly inspirational person in their lives.
You fought the good fight, and now may you finally rest in peace. God bless you CSM. God bless you Tony.

With warmest regards,
Tom Weber
