Anthony Sciarra Obituary



Anthony J. Sciarra, 87, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Seabury in Bloomfield. Born in Hartford to the late Luigi and Antionetta (Gatone) Sciarra, he graduated from Hartford High School and served his country proudly with the US Army during the Korean War. Anthony was a member of St. Gabriel Church in Windsor and worked for Pratt & Whitney for over 50 years. His family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Seabury for their compassionate care of Anthony. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Peter, Gerald, Joseph, Louis and Albert Sciarra, and his sisters Susie Chiarizo, Carmella Yaconiello, Constance Morin, Mary Nilson and Ann Arnini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Thursday, April 23 at St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad St Windsor followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. I have many fond memories of Uncle Anthony. What a great guy who was so very kind to my brothers, sisters and me. He was a lot of fun to be around and I have many fond memories of being around him. He will be sorely missed! Dan Arnini
