TARRO, Anthony
Anthony Tarro, 91, of Plainville, husband of Olga (Elia) Tarro, passed away Wednesday (October 17, 2012) at Brittany Farms Health Center in New Britain. Born in Providence, RI, son of the late Joseph and Rachel (Leone) Tarro, he was a former New Britain resident, moving to Plainville in 1982. A World War II Army Air Corps veteran, he served in the China/Burma theaters of operation with the "Fighting Tigers" and was assigned to the 341st Bombardment Group / HQ 14th A.A.F as a bombardier on B-24's and flew many combat missions. He was employed at Emhart Corporation in Windsor for over 20 years, retiring in 1981. Tony was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in New Britain and was an avid golfer and member of The Men's Club at Stanley Golf Course. Besides his wife Olga, he leaves a step son, Robert Sargis Sr. of Plainville; a sister, Rose Masselle of Manchester; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Tarro; two brothers, Michael and Peter Tarro; and a sister, Ann Yacinski.
Graveside Funeral Services with military honors will be held Wednesday (October 24) 12 Noon at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours. The Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Newington Ave., New Britain, CT 06051.
