Barbara A. Dombrowskas

1938 - 2018

Barbara Dombrowskas (Holyst), 79, passed away peacefully September 28 at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Britain, CT on Dec 2, 1938 to the late George and Veronica "Elvira" Holyst. Barbara attended school at Sacred Heart and graduated from Mary Immaculate Academy in New Britain. She worked for Aetna upon graduation before committing to motherhood. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Dombrowskas and Jo-Anne Dombrowskas of Derry, NH and a grandson Michael Giguere of Auburn Hills, MI. She is also survived by a brother, George Holyst and his wife Carol, their children Heather and Chris, and a sister Elaine Holyst of Southington, CT. Barbara was predeceased by her sons Brian and Ronald Dombrowskas, who were always in her heart. Barbara was a loving mother who had a passion for cooking, long drives, family picnics, celebrating Christmas with family, playing cards with aunts and uncles, or just visiting with family. Her infectious smile was an everyday occurrence that family and friends knew her for. Barbara believed in and encouraged all to be honest and caring individuals. She led a life of morals and strong values. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. A calling hour will take place on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain, CT.
