Barbara A. HENRICKSON

HENRICKSON, Barbara A. Barbara A. Henrickson, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, (February 18, 2011). She was the loving wife of Larry W. Henrickson, Jr., for 43 years. Born May 6, 1937 in Winsted; the daughter of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (Gidman) Johnson. She graduated from Gilbert School in 1955 and then went on to attend and graduate from Becker College in Worcester, MA. Barbara was employed as a Medical Secretary at Hartford Hospital for more than 10 years before becoming a mother. She then stayed home to raise her children and care for her family. Always supportive of her husband and children, she became very involved in many of their activities throughout the years. She was a vital member of her neighborhood and community, often organizing donations for local charities. She had a love for the piano, cats, cooking, baking and taking summer vacations on the shores of Maine and CT with her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Lawrence Henrickson, III, and his wife Anna and David Henrickson and his wife Erin; two grandchildren, Julia and Matthew; two loving cousins, Dick and Marge Gidman of Cape Cod and Karen and Ron Bowen of Paris, France; and a special friend, Mildred Avery. She was predeceased by a brother, David Kenneth Johnson.
