Barbara Orzel Obituary
Barbara L. Orzel, 79, of Bristol, beloved wife of John M. Orzel, Jr., died Monday August 31, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford. Barbara was born in Willimantic, ME on April 20, 1936 and was a daughter of the late Galen and Marion (Donohoe) Applebee. She resided in Bristol most of her life. In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Cheryl Haney of San Antonio, TX and Michael and Barbara Haney of Rotonda West, FL; five daughters, Lois Levasseur and her husband Stephen of Rotonda West, FL, Barbara Kozee and her fiancé Robert Weber of Florissant, CO, Mary O'Sullivan of Bristol, Patricia Haney and her boyfriend Robert Savickas of Bristol, and Sue Haney and her partner Tammy Williams of Monett, MO; a brother, Chap Applebee; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sons, George and Daniel Haney. Funeral Service will be celebrated at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Friday (September 4, 2015) at 1 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Funeral Home prior to the service between 11 A. M. and 1 P.M. Burial in West Cemetery, Bristol will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation (www.arfct.org) 366 Main St., Terryville, CT 06786.
