Boguslaw "Bogdan" Maj

1958 - 2018

Boguslaw Maj, 59, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018. He was born on Dec. 18, 1958 in Elblag, Poland to the late Jan and Halina (Widzicka) Maj. He came to the United States in 1985 and worked at Budney Overhaul and Repair for many years. Many personally knew him for the great electrician that he was. He was always hard working and devoted to helping others. His daughters will have fond memories of the bike rides and trips to Chester Lake that they all used to take together. These are the memories that will last a lifetime. Bogdan also enjoyed watching soccer matches and enjoyed doing yard work. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Beata (Pianka) Maj; his daughters Magdalena Maj and fiancé Matthew, Gabriela Jablonski and husband Daniel; his precious grandson Ryan; his brothers in Poland: Andrzej Maj and wife Grazyna, Zbigniew Maj and wife Elzbieta, Ryszard Maj and wife Irena; his sister-in-law Bozena Fil, and his brother-in-law Tomasz Pianka as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 21 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. Friends are asked to go directly to church.
