EUGENIDES, Brenner Fillmore
Brenner Fillmore Eugenides, 26, died at Brooklyn (New York) Hospital on Wednesday. Brenner was loved deeply by his parents, Brent Eugenides of Groton, and Kim Harty of Bar Harbor, Maine, his step-mother, Robyn Hoffmann of Groton, and his sister, Kallie Eugenides and her partner, Michael Branciforte, of Bar Harbor. Brenner was the inspired lead guitarist of Broken Glow, which is based in Brooklyn. In addition, he was a gifted soundstage and recording technician. Brenner's passions included travel, skateboarding, cooking, snowboarding, visiting the race track, cats, and "all things New York." Due to his physical beauty, wit, and wry sense of humor, Brenner was usually the center of attention as soon as he walked into a room. His passage is felt deeply by his band mates who were more than friends to him, and all members of the musical community in Brooklyn. This young successor to Jimmy Page and Slash will be missed by all who ever heard him play the guitar. Brenner will stay "forever young" in our hearts. Brenner was born in Grosse Pointe, MI, on Nov. 6, 1985. He graduated from the Regional Hebron, Andover, and Marlborough (RHAM) High School in 2003 and received his associate's degree, magna cum laude, from the Hartford Conservatory in Hartford. In addition to the family mentioned earlier, Brenner is survived by his grandparents, Wanda Eugenides, Contoocook, NH, Fillmore Harty, Portsmouth, NH, and Jean Harty, Franklin, ME. Brenner was the beloved nephew of Jan Eugenides, Washington, OR; Jeffrey Eugenides, Princeton, NJ; Collin Harty, Stafford Springs; Drew Harty, Treadwell, NY, and Dr. Heather Hoffmann, Lancaster, PA. Brenner was adored by his cousins Anna Harty, Georgia Eugenides, Joel Eugenides, Jenna Eugenides, Alicia Eugenides, Ella Theuer, and Sam Davis. His family would like to thank the staff of Brooklyn Hospital.
Family members will celebrate his life in a private gathering on Saturday in Groton. A musical celebration of Brenner's life will take place later this year. For more information, please visit the Facebook page of Broken Glow. Charitable contributions may be made in Brenner's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at JDRF.org.

Beautiful Brenner, your gorgeous spirit lives on in our hearts forever. I know that you soar the Heavens up there surrounded by the angels, accompanied by Barbaro and many many equine, feline, and canine spirits who adore you. I know you are near, Brenner, when I hear the Canada geese in flight but pausing ever so near to be sure I know it's you, and our beloved, Louie, too :). You are so loved, Brenner, and be sure to let Robyn and Dad, Kallie and Michael, and your precious nephew, Miles, be sure to let them know you truly are very near. Your spirit, your "you", your passion lives on in our hearts forever. Send us that "glow", Brenner. Love you,
always, Lou Ann

I went to high school with Brenner, but I got to know him better after college when I attended several Broken Glow shows back when they were still in CT. Even though several months have passed, I often think of him sadly, yet quite fondly. My thoughts and best wishes are with his family and friends. Brenner, we grew up together, and we are all in line behind you. We will meet again one day. God bless.

Please accept my thanks and that of Brenner's father, Brent Eugenides, for your comforting words of condolence and tribute to Brenner's memory. Brenner possessed a tremendous joie de vivre; he touched so many lives in a positive manner during his 26 years.
As Iggy Pop would say, Brenner had a lust for life.
Brent, Kallie, and I were with Brenner the first time that he picked up a guitar. That memory is very precious and gives one sustenance to go forward.
Many thanks to each of you. Peace, Robyn Hoffmann

Beautiful Brenner, God Bless you! While I did not have the honor of meeting you in person, my heart is filled with all the many treasures your family always shared to me about you.
I know that a very special equine friend was there to greet you at Heaven's gates - spread your wings now, Brenner, and soar with him. Yet here on earth we weep - having to say goodbye to you far too soon.
To Brenner's most special family, and your band of brothers, Broken Glow, I hold each of you close in my heart at this most difficult time.
With love and deepest sympathy . . .
