Brian Steely Obituary

Brian Thomas Steely, 58, of Manchester, CT., formerly of West Milford, NJ, came full circle on his journey when he died on Dec. 6, 2022, at Manchester Memorial Hospital where he was born. Brian was predeceased by his father, Harold and his sister, Gail. He leaves to mourn his passing his mother Anna Steely of Enfield, CT., his brother Douglas Steely and wife Pal Bickford of Marblehead, MA., his sister Lois Leber and husband Peter Leber of Manchester, CT., his brother Wayne Steely and wife Lani Bortfeld of Enfield, CT., his brother Craig Steely and wife Jenn Borealo of Chester, NJ, his sister Kathy Ponte and partner Steve Cromwell of Lebanon, CT., and numerous loving nieces and nephews and two grandnieces.

Brian attended Verplanck Elementary School in Manchester, CT., graduated from West Milford High School, where he was a star athlete and went on to Rutgers University.

Brian was part of the family business of restoration and sales of antique and vintage furniture and was for many years the main care caregiver of his mother and father.

Brian was an avid music fan, especially of the Beatles, and loved all sports especially the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. He had an amazing recall of sport statistics and rules. Brian was a loyal friend and loving brother and son.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be sent to The Special Olympics or the American Cancer Society. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home has care of the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.tierneyfuneralhome.com.
