Bronislaw K. Adamow

1923 - 2014

ADAMOW, Bronislaw "Bruno" Kazimerz, 91, of Newington, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014, and joined his loving daughter, Alice (Adamow) Kosciukiewicz at Heaven's eternal banquet. Bruno leaves behind his loving wife, Maria (nee Przewrocki), and his only son and daughter in law, Richard Adamow and Louise Adamow (Rocky Hill), and son in law, Stanley Kosciukiewicz, (West Hartford). Bruno married his wife, Maria, in Poland on June 5, 1949. Together, they immigrated to the United States in 1977. Bruno was born on January 7, 1923 to the late Franciszka and Jozef Adamow in Jamelna, Poland. He leaves behind his sister Maria Mlot, of Poland. Bruno was predeceased by his brother Jozef, and sisters, Katarzyna and Hanna. Bruno also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Mark Kosciukiewicz, Anna (Jason) Faber, Peter (Monika) Kosciukiewicz, Yvonne Adamow, Lauren Adamow and husband Shaun Poglitsch, and Ingrid Adamow, and Henry Patterson, and five great grandchildren, Shea Wilkinson, Jayden Faber, Avery Faber, Andrew Kosciukiewicz, and Matthew Kosciukiewicz. Bruno lived a life punctuated by valor. A member of resistance group, The Polish Underground, during WWII, Bruno was forced to resettle to the town of Wilkanow, Poland, and refused enticements of the Communist Party proudly and boldly stating, "I will never sell my soul to the devil". Bruno's life revolved around his love for family, music, and the Catholic Church. He studied organ music at University of Wroclaw, and played the piano and accordion, providing beautiful organ music for SS. Cyril and Methodius in Hartford for 35 years, as well as held the position of music and choir director. Bruno received the "Polonia Distinguished Service Award", and the "St. Joseph Archdiocesan Medal of Appreciation". Bruno was a very active member of the Polish Hunting Club "Los", of New Britain, and was an artist, a painter, taxidermist, and spent much of his life as a bee keeper. He was employed by Udolf's Men Clothing West Hartford as a head tailor, and as an artist by nature; his tailoring work was his craft. Bruno will forever be close to those whose hearts he touched with his cheerful sense of humor, heartfelt blessings at every family dinner, and with his love. Rest in Peace Bruno, "Tato" (father), and "DziaDzia" (grandfather), until we meet again. Bruno's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, April 21 from 5-8 pm at the Farley Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. His funeral mass will be held at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Ct, Hartford on Tuesday April 22 at 10:00 a.m. notably on his predeceased daughter- Alice's- birthday and the burial, at the West Meadow Cemetery, 679 Willard Ave, Newington, will immediately follow.
