Hilman and kids,
I was fortunate enough to meet and work with Carol at Hartford Hospital when I worked in B10I as a travel nurse back in 1988. What a wonderful caring person she was. She was so very kind to me making me feel comfortable since I didn't know anyone there. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Howes family,
I was very saddened to learn of Carol's passing. I was privileged to work with Carol on C12 in the 1980's. I was a pretty new nurse then, and Carol taught me so much. I was always glad to see her name on the schedule with me. Her laugh was infectious! She was a true team player and we'd always work well together and have a good time no matter how crazy the shift got. She always spoke of you all so fondly. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Hilman, we are so saddened to hear of Carol's passing. We have such wonderful memories of Little Oaks days and visits to Ct. Just received the e-mail (Fri. 22) about Carol's passing. We, too, are so sad to hear of this and wish we could have been with her one more time. Hilman, keep your brave spirit and your chin up. One day, you'll be with Carol again and I feel her spirit will be with you always. So very, very sorry. Will be in touch soon.

Thanks to the many, many people who took the time to put such special notes in the guest book, attend the calling hours, and/or attend Carol's funeral. Carol was a very special person who was loved by all who met her. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. It is without saying, we have all suffered a tremendous loss in our lives. There will be an emptiness in our hearts forever. She will be greatly missed by all. Again, thanks.

I am an administrative assistant at Hartford Hospital and worked with Carol in the Care Continuum Department. She was a very kind person. It was always a pleasure to be in her company. Throughout her illness I never heard her complain and I felt that she had a lot of courage. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. I had the pleasure of working with Carol when I was a very young nurse on
C12W, she was one of my inspiring mentors. I was then blessed again when she returned to Bliss 10I. She was such a compassoinate person and loved her family so much. I think of her often because several years ago she was thoughtful enough to give my son some old baseball cards, needless to say he was thrilled. Every time I run across those cards a smile comes to my face. What a wonderful person God placed on this earth. She will be missed greatly.
