Catherine "Cathy" Calhoun

1939 - 2018

Catherine (Cathy/Cat) Heard Calhoun was born on May 17, 1939, in Chambers County, Alabama to the late Mrs. Alora Darden Heard Acres, Mr. Homer Jack Heard and Mrs. Emma Lee Heard. Cathy passed into the great beyond to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 7:20 P.M. at the Hebrew Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Hartford, CT. She married James Calhoun on April 6, 1968, and this marriage lasted for 50 years until her demise. To this union, two children, they loved very much were born Derek and Juandalynn. She was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A legacy of love is entrusted to the following survivals: a loving and devoted husband, Mr. James Calhoun, Hartford, CT; a devoted son, Bishop Derek (Sharron) Calhoun, Orange Park, FL and Mrs. Juandalynn (Larry) Heslop, Greer, South Carolina; six brothers, seven grand children , two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. with calling hour at 10 a.m at Hopewell Baptist Church, 280 Windsor Ave. Windsor, CT Burial will be Lanett, Alabama. www.carmonfuneralhome.com
