Catherine Rykoski Obituary

RYKOSKI, Catherine Mrs. Catherine Rykoski, 90, of 71 Osborne Rd., widow of Edward A. Rykoski, died Friday, (August 17, 2007) at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Rykoski was born in Stamford on March 12, 1917, daughter of the late Albin and Natalie (Piotrowski) Krayeski. She was a resident of Naugatuck for most of her life, and she was employed by Risdon Manufacturing Co. for many years. She was a lifelong member of St. Hedwig Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as sewing, crocheting, tatting, cooking and baking. She leaves a son, David E. Rykoski and his wife, Diane M. of Middlebury; two daughters, Florence Raimo and her husband, Alfonso of Windsor, Arlene Leonard and her husband, Tom of Camarillo, CA; a brother, Dom Krayeski of Suffield ; three sisters, Frieda Beneski, Frances Papuga, and Dorothy Gogulski, all of West Suffield; 11 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia McLaughlin of Watertown. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301 , Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
