Cecilia Alfonso Obituary
Cecilia Alfonso, 71, of Middletown, beloved wife of Ignacio Alfonso, passed away Tuesday, March 20th, 2018. Born November 22nd, 1946 in Ciego de Avila, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Orlando E. and Maria J. (Perez) Aguero. After 25 years at Aetna Life Insurance Company, Cecilia retired in 2005 as a Pension Consultant. Besides her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Jorge I. Alfonso and his wife Michelle of Middletown, Alejandro A. Alfonso and his wife Amanda of West Hartford and Andres O. Alfonso and his wife Elita of East Hartford, her brother, Pedro O. Aguero of Burlington and six grandchildren, Olivia, Raphael, Lilliana, Mariana, Rowan and Oscar. She was predeceased by two brothers, Juan and Rafael Aguero. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave., Hartford on Friday (Mar. 23) from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Saturday (Mar. 24) at 10:15am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Hartford at 11:00am. Burial will be in Mt. CC was one of the first people I met at Aetna in 1990 and she became a mentor and fiend to me right away. It was like having my mom/big sister watching out for me at work. Then we decided to car pool to work together with 2 other ladies and we laughed all the way to work and all the way home, every day. Imagine my good fortune when my brother married into the family and I got to see CC at family get togethers and holidays. She was a wonderful person, so smart and so loving and so proud of her family - she talked about them all the time. Nicky and the boys..I felt I knew them long before I met them. We will miss you so much Cecilia (we called her CC at work).
All my love to Nick and George, Michelle, Olivia and all the kids and grandkids. I am so sorry for your great loss.

I'm remembering with fondness your wonderful Cecilia, your boys and all the Agueros of being a brief member of the family during my marriage to Modesto. Such a kind, generous and thoughtful person, who along with her husband Nicky raised such a beautiful family. She was the matriarch and will be missed very much, but will never be forgotten.
