Charles Finney Obituary

Charles Raye Finney, 78, West Simsbury, CT died peacefully February 6, 2015. A Texas original, he graduated from Lamar University as a Sigma Nu in Beaumont, TX never forgetting his western roots or his amazing lifelong friends. He was a proud Eagle Scout and veteran of the Korean War. He came to New England with Cameron Iron Works selling super steels for jet engines. He started a successful computer supply business at the beginning of the industry and yet was most at home with "his guys" in his retirement job at Miner Lumber, in Canton, CT. A collector & tinkerer who could fix anything, he loved deep sea fishing and cars of all kinds, and especially loved gathering friends and family at his home in Prince Edward Island, Canada. He leaves his beloved family, his "bride" of 46 years Janet, Chad, Elizabeth and Michael. Chuck's legacy will continue on in others through the gift of tissue donation. A celebration of his life will be private at his request. Donations may be made to Roaring Brook Nature Center, Canton, CT.
