Charles Millspaugh Obituary



Charles S. Millspaugh Jr.(Stubby) 81,passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. Born in New Haven, CT. on May 11,1936, he was the son of the late Charles and Lillian(Olsen) Millspaugh. He grew up in Old Saybrook, CT and graduated from Old Saybrook High School where he played soccer, basketball and baseball, earning The Athlete of the Year upon graduation. An avid golfer, he played Fenwick Golf Course almost every day. He also enjoyed boating on Long Island Sound and the Yankees. Charles was a letter carrier for the Old Saybrook Post Office for thirty four years until his retirement. Charles was also a retired member of the Old Saybrook Fire Department and a member of the Connecticut Army National Guard. He was the beloved husband of Suzanne Fillback Millspaugh for fifty five years. During their retirement years they traveled to Alaska, Italy, France, England, The Panama Canal, Yellowstone National Park and to numerous other National Parks taking each grandchild in turn with them on a special trip. Besides his devoted wife, Charles, a true family man, leaves his three children, Peter Millspaugh, Nancy Emigh (Scott), and Jennifer Rosenberg (Robert), plus his grandchildren Zachary Emigh, Sarah Emigh, Lukas Rosenberg, Samuel Rosenberg, Natalie Rosenberg and Benjamin Rosenberg. In addition he leaves his brothers, Thomas (Maureen), James (Patricia) and William (Peggy), his brother in law Edward B. Fillback (Judith) as well as many nieces and nephews.
