Charles Shulman Obituary

Charles "Chaz" Shulman, 85, of Simsbury, passed away Thursday, (May 10, 2012) at the VA Hospital in West Haven. He was the beloved husband for 41 years of Pearl Shulman. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of Meyer and Esther Shulman. Charles, a Navy Veteran, was stationed on the ship the USS Sampson during World War II. A local artist, Charles started painting homes in the mid 1980's. His award winning pen and ink drawings hang in many homes and businesses. You can view his original painting of the Hueblein Tower on site. Charles is survived by his wife Pearl and by his children Joanne Aronson of Simsbury, Michael and his wife Robin of New York City, Michelle and her husband Brian of Bristol, Sari and her husband Art of Torrington, sister-in law Esther and her husband Herb Toback of Newington, cherished grandchildren Jason and his wife Sara of Long Island New York, Steven Aronson of the US Navy, Jordan, Elizabeth and Danny Kelly of Bristol and great granddaughter Jessie of Long Island, New York and several nieces, nephews, cousins and life- long friends. He was pre-deceased by his two sisters and brother.
A funeral service will be Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave, West Hartford. Following the service the family will receive friends at his home in Simsbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123. The family expresses much gratitude to his visiting nurse Janet for her exceptional care and attention. Chaz will be forever in our hearts.

Dear Pearl,
I know you are resilient. I hope this last year has not been too difficult for you and the children.
When I do an art show I will always expect to see Charlie. He always put a little light in my day. I miss him too.
