Chris Michaels Obituary
Chris K. Michaels, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15th 2017 at home with his family, following a brief illness. Chris was born in Greece and moved to the United States as a teenager. He quickly learned the English language and became an American citizen. He was involved with the restaurant business, owning establishments in Newington and Rocky Hill at different times throughout his career. Chris leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Helen Michaels, his daughter Katerina Michaels-Bogdan, his son in law William Bogdan and his beloved grandchildren Amanda Rose, Zachary Chris and Matthew Edward Bogdan. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and their children. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 18th 2017, from 5 to 7 pm, at Rose Hill Funeral Home. During this gathering, a Trisagion will be held starting at 6:30pm. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, July 19th 2017, at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Hartford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Chris either to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Hartford, CT or The John A. Dequattro Cancer Center at ECHN, Manchester, CT.

Helen and Katerina,
I was sad to hear of Chris passing. He was a kind, great man and a good friend. His life lessons I learned with my first job at West Side Pizza of working hard, always doing a good job, and how important family was, stayed with me all of these years. May he rest in peace.

What a kind, sweet, gentle man...been having catering/pizza orders for the office/personal since the middle '90's...and then coffee in the a.m. when he was around...always made me feel special...Rest In Peace Chris...You Will Always Be Loved and Remembered...

Katerina and family, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Your father was always so kind. Living to the age of 92 is a blessing and his life was truly blessed with you, your mom and your family.

Chris was one of the kindest souls I have every had the privilege to know, along with his wife Helen. My heart breaks for you, but knowing that he is smiling on us all heals the pain of losing such a bright and beautiful soul. All my love and prayers, I will always remember your kindness Chris!
