Christine Munoz

1919 - 2014

Christine (Vignone) Munoz, 94, of Wethersfield, loving daughter of the late Anthony and Antoinette (Pontillo) Vignone, passed away peacefully, Thursday, (February 27, 2014) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center with her loving and devoted daughter and sister by her side. She was born September 1, 1919 in Hartford and lived in Wethersfield for 46 years. She retired after 38 years of dedicated service from the M. Swift & Sons Gold Leaf Co. and also worked at G. Fox & Co. in Hartford. She was a member of the Third Order of Mt. Carmel, a longtime faithful communicant of the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield and a member of the St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center Women's Auxiliary. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Antoinette M. "Toni" Munoz; her loving sister, Josephine Vignone and her sister-in-law, Helen R. Vignone, all of Wethersfield; a nephew, Michael Joseph Vignone, Sr. and wife Doris and their son, Michael Joseph Vignone, Jr.; a niece, Alyssa N. Vignone and nephew, Nicholas R. Vignone and their mother, Sharon C. Vignone. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, John A. Vignone, Sr. and Raphael J. Vignone; sisters, Angeline T. Vignone and Anna Maria Pedemonti; a nephew, John A. Vignone, Jr. and uncle, John Pontillo. A special thank you to Dr. Niranjan Sankaranarayanan, Dr. Michael Moustakakis, Dr. Ari Geller and Dr. Christine Vigneault, nurses Kim, Harriet, Justina and Betsy and staff Cheryl and Jean at DaVita Dialysis, Masonicare visiting nurse, Gina Corraccio, as well as Dr. Kathleen Kennedy and Dr. Michael Teiger for the care, love and compassion shown to Chris during her illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (March 7) at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the Mass. The burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are private.
