ALEXOPOULOS, Christopher P. Christopher P. Alexopoulos, 80, a longtime resident he was called safely home on Tuesday, (January 9, 2007) at Holyoke Hospital. He was born in Suffield on November 24, 1926 a son of the late Gus and Irene (Danos) Alexopoulos and educated in Suffield. Christopher was a longtime landscaper in the Pioneer Valley and had worked for Fred DeCarlo and Reidy Landscapers Both of Agawam, MA. Most recently, he was employed at G& H Landscapers for several years retiring in 1993. Christopher worked for many years with his brother " Meho" making Christmas wreaths and memorial baskets in Suffield on the family farm,Suffield Evergreen which had been done for generations and was started by their late father, Gus Alexopoulos. Christopher knew the local flora and was able to spend many years picking pussy willows, lilacs and mountain laurel for the family business. Christopher's knowledge of the growing seasons and local mountains was extraordinary. He loved baseball and was a NY Yankees fan, enjoyed NASCAR and enjoyed auto races locally, attending Riverside and Stafford. Christopher was predeceased by his wife, Helen Partyka whom he married in 1954. He is survived by his son, Christopher Alexopoulos, Jr. of South Hadley, MA; a brother, Michael "Meho" Alexopoulos of Suffield; three sisters, Bessie Nash of Connecticut, Lilly Kane of East Longmeadow, Elaine Ford of Connecticut; his two dear friends, Michael "Peachy" Pietraz of Feeding Hills and Paul Paradzinski of Holyoke. Christopher was predeceased by a sister and three brothers, Flora Reinhold and George, Lincoln and Spiro Alexopoulos. A private memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 13, in the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway Chicopee, MA 01020.
