Christopher A. Giffin

Christopher Arthur Giffin passed away in Charleston, SC on April 21, 2015 at the age of 59. Raised in Bloomfield, CT, Chris was the son of the late Warren and Mary (Clark) Giffin. After graduating from Bentley College, Chris maintained a successful career in sales and sales management and raised a strong and loving family with his wife Karen (Albanese) Giffin in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. For the past five years, Chris focused on his dream of living in Myrtle Beach where he could golf and enjoy the weather with his wife and son. There he also owned and operated two liquor stores and made a lot of friends. Chris is survived by his wife, Karen, and his children, Samantha, Dana, and Matthew. He also leaves behind his brother, Greg, his sisters, Martha and Lisa, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends across the country. Chris was a kind and generous man who will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held for Chris from 3pm-6pm on June 13, 2015 at Nelson Hall- First Church of Windsor, 107 Palisado Ave in Windsor, CT. In lieu of flowers and in keeping with Chris's lifelong generosity, donations can be made in his memory to The Barton Center, PO BOX 356, North Oxford, MA 01537. The Barton Center runs Camp Joslin, which held a special place in Chris's heart and which he credited with teaching him how to thrive while living with Type 1 Diabetes.
