Born in Hartford in February of 1937 to Adolph and Alice (Chester) Korper, Kip attended Beach Park, Kingswood (1955) and Amherst, enlisting in the Air Force and receiving his Lieutenant bars in 1960. In his 28-year career as a pilot in the Air Force, Kip flew everything from reconnaissance missions to combat rescue on HH53C Jolly Greens in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force in 1988, Kip flew and trained pilots for Boeing until June of this year.
