HARGER, Craig S.
Craig S. Harger, age 74 of Bristol, CT, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday (October 18 2011) at Bristol Hospital surrounded by his loving family following his courageous 4 year battle with cancer. Craig was born in Oxford, Connecticut, the eldest son of the late J. Nelson Harger and the late Grace B. Harger. He was a 1955 graduate of Windham High School. He also attended Bucknell University and the University of Hartford. Craig served in the United States Army Reserve with the 76th Division. Craig is survived by his loving wife Kathie and leaves a brother, Jonathan and his wife Erika Harger of Niantic, CT; and sister-in-law Cleo Harger, of Springfield, MO. He is also survived by his daughter Rev. Jennifer Fitts and her husband David of Raleigh, NC; his son Paul Harger and wife Laura of Tolland, CT; and three stepchildren Dawn Poole and husband Rick of Richmond Hill, GA, James Gagne of Greenwood, IN and Steven Gagne and his wife Jodi of Bristol, CT. Craig also leaves eleven wonderful grandchildren Eric, Kristin, Jack, Jimmy, Andrew, Ashley, Danielle, Sean, Katelin, Carson and Damon; his great-grandson Mason; as well as four nieces and a nephew. Craig was predeceased by his brother, Dr. Bruce Harger (USAF Colonel retired).
A celebration of Craig's life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Bristol Baptist Church, 43 School St., Bristol, CT at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
