Cynthia BROW Obituary

BROW, Cynthia J. Cynthia "Cindy" J. Brow, 48, of Medford, MA and formerly of Vernon, died peacefully on Thursday, (February 24, 2011) at home, surrounded by family, friends and her beloved dog Casey after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Hartford on February 27, 1962 to John and Elizabeth (Petersen) Brow of Vernon, Cindy was voted 'most popular' in junior high school. She graduated from Rockville High School, Class of 1980. She continued her education at Bay Path College in East Longmeadow, MA, earning her Associates Degree in 1982. She moved to the Boston area over 20 years ago and held impressive jobs as Senior Administrative Assistant to Vice Presidents of large corporations, most recently Fidelity Investments. Cindy was an avid athlete excelling in softball and golf. She loved boating and her beloved Red Sox. In addition to her parents, Cindy is survived by her loving partner and companion of many years, Sal Longo of Medford, MA and his loving family who Cindy considered her "2nd family" who stood by her and cared for her during her illness; her siblings who will miss her dearly, Gary Brow and his wife Sharon of Vernon, Cheryl McDonald and her husband Dennis of Tolland, and John "Jay" Brow of Ellington; a nephew, Jake; four nieces, Corrine, Jesse, Stephanie and Carly; aunts, numerous cousins, extended family members and longtime friends and colleagues from Boston and Vernon. She was predeceased by two of her loving dogs, Kahn and Mugsy. Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Monday, February 28, 2011 from 4-6 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Cemetery, Rt. 74 and Kingsbury Avenue, Rockville.
