D. Ken Welch

D. Ken Welch, 96. of Tolland and husband of the late, Eileen (Boyle) Welch, went to enteral rest on Sat. Dec. 10, 2022 at his home. He was a faithful parishioner and usher of St. Bernard's Church in Rockville. Ken started working for the Hartford Courant Newspaper in charge of newspaper distribution in 1950. He also worked for the local Bristol Newspaper prior to working the Hartford Courant. Ken umpired for fast and slow pitch softball in Rockville for many years and also started the Chowder Marching Society in Rockville. Ken was an alert photographer for the local police and fire departments.. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He is survived by his two sons; David Welch Jr. and his wife, Li Hui of Japan, Jeffrey Welch of Somers; his daughter, Linda Sieber of Windsor; his two grandchildren, Heather Katuzney and Bethany Sieber; 5 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 3-6 p.m., Thur., Dec. 15, 2022 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Fri., Dec. 16, 2022 at St. Bernard's Church (Blessed Sacrament Parish), Rockville.
