Dana Webber Obituary

Dana "Big D" Webber Sr., 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June18, 2015. He was born in Presque Isle, ME on May 14, 1932, the son of the late Earl and Minnie Webber. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Webber and four children Rod and Connie Webber of Enfield CT, Scott and Theresa Webber, Debbie and Kevin Kellner and Dana Jr. and wife Denise Webber, all of Ellington CT, where he brought up his family. He also leaves 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother Peter Webber and sister Earlene Clark. He will also be missed by his snowmobile buddies from the Muddy River SnoSeekers in ME, who created numerous stories over the years. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Webber, sister Jean Aldrich, and sister Joyce Good. He was an Air Force veteran, and following his service time he chose the profession of professional truck driver, which he loved. He drove for Superior Propane in Ellington, CT for 22 years, and loved driving his big red Kenworth and visiting with his friends at the truck stop in New York. Driving his truck was like a 2nd home to him. In retirement, they traveled the country in their RV. He loved all his friends at the various truck stops he went to, especially in New York. He was a religious man who cared deeply about his family and friends. He leaves endless memories with his family including camping trips and snowmobiling trips to northern ME. He was in his glory when he was cutting wood, and was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and the New York Giants, and also loved to watch his Uconn Huskies. The family would like to thank the outstanding nursing staff at Parkway Pavillion, especially Becky, Devon, and all the aids, and also the staff at Masonicare Hospice. There are no calling hours . A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family . Donations may be made to the charity of choice. The Cremation Society of CT, Windsor has been entrusted with arrangements.

Dana, so sorry to learn about your Dad. I still remember him showing up to our soccer games with his big ford pickup. Intense guy. Great dad.

I'm sure he was greeted by Dad, Richard and a couple of his buddies and was whisked off to a heavenly fishing spot. Condolences are never enough when your father dies, but at least you all have each other. Thinking of you all.
