Daniel DiFiore Obituary

Daniel A. DiFiore, 86, of Hartford, beloved husband of Rose (Iannetta) DiFiore, died peacefully on Monday, (July 21, 2003) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Montville, N.J., he was the son of the late Philip and Cesarina DiFiore and had lived in Hartford for many years. Daniel was employed as a corporate secretary for Hartford Despatch Moving and Storage in East Hartford, retiring after many years of service. He was also a member of AARP, the American Legion Post #200 in Rocky Hill. He was a long time communicant of St. Augustine Church, a former treasurer of the church, and a former officer in the Boy's Brigade. Daniel was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving valiantly during World War II. He will be deeply missed. Besides his wife, Rose; he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Judith DiFiore of Wethersfield, Thomas and Frances DiFiore of Wethersfield, and Robert and Kathleen DiFiore of Middletown; three sisters, Eva Aquino of Montville, NJ, Christine Hanson of Bayside, WI, and Julia Grimes of Fort Pierce, FL; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jill, Eric, T.J., Daniel, Michael and Maria DiFiore; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Mia DiFiore; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Sylvan and Herman DiFiore; and a sister, Victoria Degen. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 10 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Church. Burial, with full Military Honors, will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are TODAY from 5-8 p.m. at the D'Esopo Chapel. A special thanks to the staff of Ellis Manor for their loving care.
