I knew Daniel from our family medicine residency at MUSC from 1986-1989. We were in the same year and he was one of my favorite colleagues. I always appreciated his warmth, humility and sense of humor. He was a very beautiful human being with such a kind heart.

Dr. Wachspress took care of my daughter and me, and he was a thoughtful, careful, diligent and caring person. When I think of him, I think of him smiling and asking me questions that made me know he had listened the last time I was there. He is missed as a doctor and friend.

Doctor Wachspress was known as Dr. Dan in my house, too. He took care of three generations of my family and was greatly missed when he retired. He was a compassionate listener and a careful diagnostician. He took our concerns seriously and worked with us to resolve medical issues. I am so sorry to hear of his illness and passing. My deep condolences to his family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Wachpress at Carillion of Fort Defiance. While being seen he always made an effort ask about my life and my children. He would also share about his wife and children. I knew him as a very educated, caring , down to earth individual. I am sorry for you loss.

Dan was a bright, intelligent, and engaged thinker who always stimulated me to delve deeper than the surface of a problem. I regret the untimely loss of a gifted physician and colleague.

What sad news... Dr Dan, as he was fondly referred to in our house, was our family doctor for several years until his retirement. He was always personable and had a great sense of humor, esp. when dealing with our sons as teenagers. He always asked me where every one was in the world and how were the sports going. We all thought the world of him. He was so incredibly intelligent, but kept things simple for the rest of us. He was definitely missed when he left Fort. Soar with the angels Dr. Dan.

I was a patient of Dr. Wachspress for many years. Going to an appointment was always like meeting with a friend. He knew all about me and truely cared. It showed clearly at each appointment. I always looked forward to seeing him. I was shocked by his retirement, but now understand and am deeply saddened to read of his passing. My condolences to his family and friends.

Dan and I were room mates our junior year at UConn. Dan was always even keeled and a good listener so I knew he would be an excellent physician which was his goal. He showed his concern and commitment for other humans with his year of work in Togo for the Peace Corps. Dan and I would go to all the UConn home men's games at the Fieldhouse eating dinner early and walking up the hill from our dorm in the Jungle to get good seats right under the basket. We also went to the game in the Hartford Civic Center against UMass the night that the roof collapsed in the early morning hours after the game. My condolences to Dan's family on his passing. He dedicated his life to trying to make a difference for others.

Dr. Wachspress was such a wonderful doctor and friend. He truly cared about his patients and wanted to know how life was really treating us. My heartbreaks for his family, especially his children whom he spoke of so often. There are not many that could be his equal.

Dr Wachspress was more than a doctor to me. He was a friend. He had a good ear for listening and helped me over several hurdles. He truly was interested asked as many questions as I did!
I am sad to read of his passing but can rejoice that all his earthly pain is
gone and he is whole again.
Sincerest sympathy to his entire family....especially his three children of whom he was very proud.
Rest In Peace, dear friend.
