Came across Darin's memorial today at the summit and wondered what could have taken such a young life. But to die on a mountaintop doing what you love! My heart goes out to the family with love.

This weekend was the first time I have been back to ragged mountain's summit since the tragic day I found young Darin. I have often thought of him and wish to express my deepest and sincerest condolences for your loss. I was touched by the memorial at the site and for the first time found some comfort in seeing Darin as the person he was. It is profoundly obvious what a wonderful and down to earth person he was. God Bless

Darin, it's tante Bita and I miss you so much. I remember around this time of year you couldn't wait for the snow to come so you could go climbing. See you in Heaven.

I never knew Darin but, I went hiking the other day and came across his memorial at the top of the rock. I was blown away and had to find out more about him. He seems like an amazing person.

My thoughts are with you!

Darin, you were my creative partner growing up! I remember all of those game contraptions we made in Norway--we spent hours of fun together working on them. I don't know if you ever knew the extent to which God used you in the lives of everyone you met, and now God is continuing to use your testimony in the lives of those you left behind. I wish I could have spent more time with you the last 4 years while we were in Indiana, but I'll always be grateful that we were able to catch up this summer. I'm going to miss your captivating smile and love of adventure, but I take comfort in knowing I'll be able to see you again when we are both with Jesus!

I will always remember the many trips to norway playing monopoly and Darin telling me that by me giving him Boardwalk and him giving me Mediterranian Ave, it was the best trade. We had many great times playing with one another when all the girls watched thier soaps and it wasn't cool to hang out with an 8 year old. Band-aide Bianca was the best commerical idea Darin came up with for me to do. I love you and I will always be thinking of you. Sar-bear

Just last night I was telling one of my students about our days of skiing in junior high and high school. You taught me, with much patience and love, how to ski. Every time I take to the slopes I remember you.

I remember the days of reading God's word together every Sunday night and learning about the eternity Jesus has prepared for us. "In my father's house there are many rooms...I am going there to prepare a place for you,"(John 14:2).

You beat me there brother, but I'll see you at home soon. Until then I'll miss you. You were a brother to me, a dear friend.

Dave, Helga and Lisa, I'm sorry for your loss. These days ahead will most likely be difficult. I love your family and the warm home you always opened up to me. You will continually be in my prayers to our Savior.

Much Love,

Terry Findley

You were always reaching for the sky, climbing higher and higher until you reached the top. Well, now that you're there, Heaven's a beautiful place to be isn't it? As you begin to watch over your family and your loved ones don't worry, because God will hold their broken hearts in His Hands until you are all together again!

Dear Findley Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't begin to feel what you are going through because I do not have any children, but even though Darin is no longer physically with you, he will live on in all of you for the rest of your days. I hope this thought brings you some comfort until the pain becomes a little more bearable. Please accept my condolences.

Dearest Lisa, Helga and Dave:

Words can not express the sadness I feel for you. I pray that you find some comfort in knowing that Darin is at peace with God in Heaven above. An Eskimo proverb says that the stars in the sky are not just celestial objects but rather the windows in heaven with a light aglow to let you know that your loved one is home. All my love and prayers, Christine
