David DiBATTISTA Obituary

DIBATTISTA, David A. David A. DiBattista, 41, beloved husband of Kathleen (White) DiBattista, entered into eternal peace surrounded by his loving family on Sunday (January 10, 2010), at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford on October 17, 1968, he had been a resident of Enfield and Somers for most of his life. David earned a Bachelor's Degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he was a member of Alpha Chi Rho fraternity, and a Master's Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was employed at Standard Bellows Company as a Sales Engineer. David attended Hazardville Methodist Church. He was a family man in every sense. David had a deep love for his wife, Kathleen, and his cherished children, Caitlyn and Curtis, and derived his greatest joy in life from time spent with them. He was known for his great sense of humor, which was evident even in the toughest moments of his life. David was proud of achieving a second degree black belt in Breakthrough Martial Arts from Integrity Martial Arts in Enfield, was an avid Patriots fan, and enjoyed boating and fishing with his family. In addition to his wife, Kathleen and his children Caitlyn and Curtis, David will be sadly missed by his mother, Karen Anderson and her husband Axel, of Somers; his father, Fred DiBattista and his wife, Beryl, of Homosassa, FL; his brother, Todd DiBattista and his wife, Malgorzata, of Norwalk, CT; his step-brothers, Paul Anderson and his wife, Diane, of Swampscott, MA, Peter Anderson and his wife, Sara, and their daughter, Mary, of Granby, CT; his step-sisters, Lisa Anderson, of Cobelskill, NY, and Maureen Puglio and her husband, Joseph, of Roxbury, CT, as well as many wonderful friends. David's family will receive relatives and friends at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, on Saturday, January 16, 2010, from 1-4 p.m. A Service celebrating David's life will follow at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to the American Red Cross, Charter Oak Chapter, 209 Farmington Ave., Farmington, CT 06032, or to the American Cancer Society, NE Division, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450-1004. I just happened to be looking through family photos last night, and ran across a bunch from one of my visits to CT. Many of David, probably teenage years, but touched me last night when I saw them. Wish I'd known David and Todd better growing up - but hugs to the family.

To David DiBattista's wife, children and family,

I talked and emailed David many times. Standard Bellows company was one TRIUMF's customers. I work as a buyer at TRIUMF and many times David helped me with many of the parts we requested. The last request sent to David regarding a price quote was answered by one of his co-workers giving me the sad news. Although, I had not met David in person...admired his knowledge about all the products I was ordering while he was able to explain anything I did not understand clearly. We are blessed to have known him

Sincerely

I last met David Di Battista and Kathleen DiBattista when this problem started. They say weaknesses are aggravated during stress. I never saw any weakness. I saw love in both.
My prayers are with David and his family.
