David Ertman Obituary



David F Ertman, 73, of Hyde Park, NY and formerly of New Haven, CT & Penn Yan, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. Born on December 22, 1942, in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Morris and Tillie (Portner) Ertman. David married the love of his life, Jane MacFeiggan on August 21, 1964 in Hartford, CT and Jane survives at home in Hyde Park. For many years, David ran his law firm - David F. Ertman Attorney at Law in New Haven, CT. Throughout his career he also served as Magistrate and Arbitrator. David was a member of the Unitarian Society of both New Haven, CT & Canadaigua, NY. In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, he is survived by his daughters; Tory (Tim) Kane of Hyde Park, NY, and Jessica (Dan) Shiffman of Hamburg, Germany, his son; Ethan ( Fiance': Jessica Trenchard) Ertman of North Bradford, CT, a sister; Holly (Ted) Kuhne of Simsbury, CT, a brother; Dick Ertman of Silverado, CA, his grandchildren; Garrett Kane, Liam Kane, James Kane, Isaac Shiffman, and Emma Shiffman, two step grandchildren; Jennina Esposito, and Isabella Esposito, along with many cousins and friends. Friends and family are invited to Holly and Ted's home at 17 Climax Rd, Simsbury, CT on Sunday, December 27th, 2015 & Monday, December 28th, 2015 from 1 to 4 pm. When I was little, David was my big cousin. And when we visited bim and the whole Hartford family it was so exiting for me. David was such a sweet and generous little boy and he remained that way throughout his life. He is certainly with the angels now.
