David Ghezzi Obituary

David W. Ghezzi, husband of Naomi Ghezzi and lifelong resident of Middletown was taken peacefully into the Lord's loving arms Saturday July 21, 2018 after a brief illness. David leaves his wife the love of his life, their dog Katey and best friend Paul Maule. David was born April 22, 1957 to the late James Ghezzi, Sr. and Beverly Ghezzi. As a teenager he worked a Vinci Oil. He enjoyed muscle cars, hunting and fishing in the pond behind his grandmother's house in his father's rowboat. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1975. After a driving accident July 1977 changed his life, he went on to live a full busy life and accomplished every goal he set for himself. David worked at the Wethersfield office of Northeast Utilities as an IT Specialist before moving to NU East (later Eversource) department in Berlin. He retired after 33 years of service. He met his wife in 1992 and they married June 6, 1997 in a ceremony by Father Terrance O'Toole of St. Pius X Church. They resided in their home he purchased on Olympus Parkway. David and Naomi enjoyed their 1972 Oldsmobile 442, 350 rocket, taking it to every car show possible with his friend Paul Maule. He also loved a good Dallas Cowboys game and many snickers bars. David was predeceased by his father, James Ghezzi, Sr, Maternal grandmother, Helen Kujawski, aunt, Lucille Aresco, and sister, Patricia Ghezzi. He is survived by his siblings, James Ghezzi, Sheila Tomasino, Darlene Ghezzi, and Eric Ghezzi, his aunt, Maureen Ahern which he loved dearly, and nieces and nephews. He would like to thank his long-time physician Dr. Otto Weis for the wonderful care he was given through the years as well as Dr. Boey, especially nurses Megan, Heather, Paula, Siobhan, Dori, Kelly, Trudy, Mary Saunders and others for going above and beyond in his care and comfort. Respiratory Doctors Weinreb, Bishop and Pace and the respiratory technicians. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the kindness and comfort my wife was also given. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday at 10:30 at St. Pius X Church, Westfield St. Middletown. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown. To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com.
