May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Heaven must of been short on angels for the Lord to call him so early in life.

Dave was a co-worker with me at the HIG. I remember when he was sick the first time and a group of us took a picture outside the HIG to send to him. At the time, I really didn't know who he was. But today I think of that day and remember it like it was yesterday. And as years passed by I had the honor to work with Newt on many different occassions and got to know him. Every year during the UW Golf outing, Newt graciously played golf with the girls and put up with our non stop talking. And Pat was always good to send Newt along with some great food on that day. We liked to call ourselves "Newt and the girls". Those are some great memories and I was looked forward to playing with Newt. He really was a good sport. He will certainly be missed and I was sadened to not be able to make it to the calling hours. My sympathies to Pat and the rest of his family.

Dave was a close friend and my lunch companion at the HIG. I'll remember him for his intelligence, dry sense of humor, and his attitude towards life. I never heard Newt complain about the difficult situation he was given in life. He played the hand he was dealt and went on with this life. Dave had many hobbies and outside interests. He was a real interesting guy when you got to know him. And if he was your friend, he would help you anyway he could. Pat, I'm glad you and Dave were able to visit me at my cottage during the summer. That was a great day. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Pat and family,
I am one of the nurses that took care of Dave. We shared many conversations about our vacations in Maine and he was kind enough to pass along some pictures of deer and moose which now (and have been for a while) my "wallpaper" on my computer. He will be sorely missed because of his thoughtfulness, kindness, and wonderful smile which brightened up every room in which he was treated; the other patients would enjoy his company. He was a special person and I am so sorry to have received a call from the office about Dave when I was up in Maine.

I worked with Dave for quite a few years at the HIG, though I left in 1984. I have kept in touch with his progress through my friend Nancy Cavanaugh and was very sad to here from her today that he has left us. I have many fond memories of Dave at the HIG and at parties with our mutual friends. My condolences to his entire family and you will be in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Dave was a friend and co worker of mine for many years at the HIG. I know he has so many friends and this is a very sad moment for us all. But we all have fond memories that will last forever. I played golf with Newt, shared some beers and many laughs. I always enjoyed his computer wave files that he would play..especially the stooges and the end of work day horn each time he logged off. He will be missed. Thoughts are with you.

I went to High School with David and lived not far from him near Mayberry Village. I remember him as a talented musician especially as a drummer. While it has been 35-plus years I never forgot about him and his friendly demeanor. My sympathies to his entire family.

My sincere condolences to Newt's family on his passing. I worked with him at the HIG and enjoyed his sense of humor...he was a lot of fun to work with. It was great to see him at the 25 Year Retiree outing this past Sept. He will be tremendously missed.
