Don Dutil Obituary

Don L. "Bugs" Dutil, 66, died on Saturday, (March 29, 2003) at Gaylord Hospital suddenly. Born in Meriden on November 10, 1936, he was the son of the late Leon and Caroline (Hull) Dutil. He had resided in Meriden most of his life and graduated from Meriden High School. Mr. Dutil retired two years ago from Quail Hollow of Plainville, and was presently employed by Fazzino Auto Parts of Meriden. He was a peacetime Veteran having served with the U.S. Marines. He was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church, and belonged to the American Legion Post #45. He is survived by two daughters, Tara-Lyn Dutil Mallin of Meriden, Gina Dutil Layman and her husband Matt Layman of Middlefield; five grandchildren, Joey Mallin, Justin, Jake, Jagur, and Jorn Layman. He is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Bob French of Meriden; one niece and two nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, April 5 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Laurent Church, 121 Camp St., Meriden. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 300 Research Pkwy., Meriden, CT 06450 or to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, Memorial/Honor Program, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Homes, 88 East Main St., Meriden.
