Donna PETERSON Obituary

PETERSON, Donna (Piaskowski) Donna (Piaskowski) Peterson, 49, of New Britain, wife of Alan "Jay" Peterson, passed away Tuesday (July 6, 2010) at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in New Britain, daughter of Phyllis (Cahill) Piaskowski-Vallera of Newington and the late Charles Piaskowski, she was a graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1978. Donna lived in Farmington for 13 years until returning to New Britain a year ago. She was employed as a Job Coach at HARC in West Hartford for five years and was a member of Club 48 in New Britain. Besides her husband and mother, she leaves two sons, Travis Greger of New Britain and Skyler Peterson, also of New Britain; a daughter, Danielle Peterson of Plainville; a grandson, Jayden Pacheco of Plainville; two brothers, Charles Piaskowski and his wife Julie of Windsor; and Peter Piaskowski and his wife Kelley of New Britain; a step brother, Joseph Vallera and his wife Kathy of Andover, MA; two step-sisters, Linda Omer and her husband David of Columbia, SC; and Diane Bilodeau and her husband Ron of West Hartford; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Donna was also predeceased by her step father, Dominic Vallera. Funeral services are Saturday 9:15 a.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church Street, Newington. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Mausoleum. Calling hours are Friday 5 to 8 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the George Bray Cancer Center, c/o Hospital of Central CT, 100 Grand Street, New Britain, CT 06051 or to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center, c/o Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour Street, Hartford, CT 06102.
