Sr Dorothy was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was intelligent, compassionate, and insightful. She had a significant influence on my decision to be come an Associate with the Srs of Notre Dame. She is greatly missed, but her legacy of love, caring and sharing continues on in all of us who were blessed to call her 'friend".

Our sincere condolences to Sister Dorothy's family. We will always remember Sister Dorothy's kindness and sweet smile. I know I am not alone in saying that your wonderful heart, love and positive attitude will greatly be missed by all your friends/family from Sacred Heart Church in Suffield CT. Even the young kids you touched as they grew in the religious education classes...they too will always remember you forever. RIP Sister Dorothy.

Will miss sister Dorothy. She was so kind to come and visit me several times while I was in the hospital for 6 weeks. A very caring individual.

When I just got back home from the hospital after having surgery, Sister Dorothy called me and asked if it would be ok if she came over. Of course I said yes, and she brought me over a big beautiful lily plant. I will never forget the kindness she showed to me. Sister Dorothy was truly a kind and loving soul.

"Nothing is as strong as gentleness. Nothing is as gentle as real strength."
St. Francis De Sales

Sister Dorothy was the personification of this -- a gentle lady with indomitable strength rooted in love of Le bon Dieu. Her ability to bring laughter, share tears, and listen deeply to each person, and to lead others was rooted in prayer.

She will be greatly missed by the masses who were blessed to be "touched" by her. She was and remains a gift in my life and for which I am deeply grateful. I know that she already is ministering to her family, friends and beloved Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, comforting all and praying with us.

An image immediately came to me when I learned of her death in the night: Dorothy "awakening" in heaven, looking around and saying, "Oh! My goodness!" and laughing that wonderful laugh. Thank you God for the gift of this your much beloved daughter.

Sister Dorothy was lovely. She was so very capable at keeping you on track & ensuring all the moving parts with our multiple ministries got done here in Sacred Heart. I loved her quick wit and good humor. She was a comfort & inspiration for us all, and she is already missed.

My family and I would like to express our deep sympathy to Sister Dorothy's family, her religious community and all her many friends. Sister Dorothy always had a smile, a kind word, a twinkle in her eye, and a "mischievous chuckle" when need be. She was a source of spiritual support for me and my husband when our son was hospitalized for a serious illness a number of years ago. Her presence and prayers at his bedside were very comforting. She was a welcome visitor for me when I had a broken leg and could not go anywhere for a number of months. She brought me the Holy Eucharist and we sipped tea and shared stories. She never rushed off, and I so appreciated her company.
She will be greatly missed by me, my husband Charles, and our children Michael and Mary, and by so many of us from Sacred Heart Parish in Suffield.

How true that S. Dorothy had a kindness and compassion that was infectious. She was a gentle, soft spoken woman who presented the Gospel message not only by speaking the words, but by living the message. It was a blessing to know Dorothy and call her "friend." The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur have lost a wonderful community member, but they have gained a saint.
My condolences to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and to Dorothy's family.
