Dorothy Mike Obituary



Dorothy (Rowley) Mike, 84, passed away January 16, 2017 with her son Kenny by her side. She was born in Hartford, CT., the daughter of Anna (Schusler) and Levi Rowley. Dot was raised in Waterbury, CT., in 1955 she graduated from UConn and became a registered Dietician. She worked in various nursing homes, as well as Conn General, and retired from Hartford Hospital. Dot's sweet, gentle personality was appreciated by all who were lucky enough to have had her in their lives. She was a devout Husky's fan who enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, and time spent with family and friends, especially at McCook's Beach. Dot is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth & Shela (DeMauro) Mike; a grandson, Augustin Mike; twin brother and sister-in-law, Donald & Evelyn Rowley; sister-in-law, Mary Rowley, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Rowley and a sister, Marjorie Rowley. A Christian memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11 am at the Niantic Community Church. All are welcome to attend. The Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 48 Grand Street, Niantic is assisting the family with the arrangements.
