She was a devout Catholic, and she was guided in all things by her faith. She enjoyed bird watching and gardening. She is predeceased by her husband, Henry Mitchell, her sister Gladys Salamon, and her brother Frank Salamon. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Mitchell, of Farmington, her son Dr. David Mitchell and his wife Julia of Midland, TX, her Brother Richard Salamon and his wife Brenda Bayer, of Bristol, Her niece and nephews, Joan Israelson, Stan Miekowski, Todd and Keith Salamon, Frank Salamon, Victor Kloczko, and their families, and her faithful cat, Molly. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 18, at 10:00 am at the Church of St. Patrick, 110 Main St. Farmington. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dorothy's name to Protectors of Animals, 144 Main St. Unit O, East Hartford, CT 06118.
