SHEVCHENKO, Dorothy O. Dorothy (Overturf) Shevchenko, 83, of Marlborough, wife of the late Richard P. Shevchenko, died Saturday, (February 18, 2006). She was born in Summerford OH, June 19, 1922, and graduated from Ohio State University in 1943. Her life's work was dedicated to the raising of her family. She was also a talented musician and gardener. She was well known, liked, and respected within the Marlborough community, where she was involved in the Board of Education and the PTA. Later in life she volunteered at Hartford Hospital for 10 years. She is survived by four sons, Ivan, Peter, Grady, and Eric; and their families, including grandchildren Torrie, Ericka, Alexis, Christine, Julianna and Lily, and great grandchildren Peter and Winter. She is also survived by step-grandchild Laura Carini and step-great grandchildren Erin and Max. Funeral Services will be held Saturday Feb. 25th at 11 a.m. in the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton with the Rev. Robert Faulhaber pastor of the Marlborough Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Marlborough Cemetery. Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
