Dear betsey and the clark family, I am a resident at Oak Grove in Moodus and I was shocked to hear of Dougs passing. He was an amazing person. I always enjoyed talking to him while he was fixing something in my apartment. He was always respectful and compassionate, and he was a very important person in our community. I can tell you that all of Oak Grove is broken hearted. We will always miss our friend Doug.

Dear Betsy and Clark Family,

Doug was a very dear friend of mine and my hunting and fishing partner for over 20 years. This loss is very hard for me and my family. Doug and I had many great days together. He was always there when you needed someone to just to talk to or have a cold beer with. It is hard to believe we were going to fish together on Saturday and suddenly God whisked him away. I know he is in good hands but I will miss him.

My two boys refered to him as Uncle Doug. They enjoyed hunting and fishing with him mostly because he was so laid back and just happy to be there. A few weeks back we went up to camp and we had one of the best days of fishing together. It will be a long held memory.

We had the lake to ourselves and we couldn't keep the fish off the lines. I told him he should have one of the fish mounted. They were trophys. He said no. He wanted my son Jack to eat them because Jack could not make the trip. That is Doug in a nutshell. God Speed Friend.

My husband and I, live in Durham, one of the complexes that Doug cared for. His passing, was a shock to all of us here, and he will be truly missed! We could always depend on Doug, if there was a problem, or if help was needed by any of the residents that live here, we could ALWAYS depend on Doug, to see it through completely. We enjoyed engaging in conversations with Doug as well. He was an all around good person. He will be greatly missed!! Ron & Carol Marcello

Dear Betsey,
We are so sorry to hear about Doug's sudden passing. I was shocked to hear the news. We are vacationing in Alaska and didn't have cell service until Saturday. Unfortunately we won't be home until Thursday and are sending our deepest regrets that we won't be able to,attend the services for Doug. I've worked side by side Doug for over 30 years and enjoyed his company. We worked well together and were the backbone of the Property Management companies we worked for. Together our skills complimented one another, always getting the job done. When we arrived in Alaska we said more than once that this is Doug's country and he would love it here. Even though we haven't worked together since my retirement we always kept in touch to see what was happening at the properties and what we we up to.
Our deepest sympathy to you and your families. I will miss him.
