E. Klett Obituary

E. Joyce (Heckman) Klett, 62, of Newington, beloved wife of the late John F. Klett, passed away peacefully on Thursday, (May 23, 2002) at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Harold L. and Eleanor (Bergeron) Heckman, and lived in Newington for most of her life. Joyce was a graduate of Newington High School, Class of 1957. In 1977 she obtained her certification as Radiological Technician from St. Francis Hospital, where she subsequently worked for 25 years. She accomplished an Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology from Middlesex Community College in 1985. She was active in local civic affairs, formerly serving on the Newington Board of Education and more recently serving on the Newington Democratic Town Committee. She was member of the American Registry of Radiological Technologists. Her greatest accomplishment is her family, always her pride and joy. Joyce will be remembered for her wonderful sense of giving and nurturing that she shared with all who knew her. Blessed with many talents, her greatest satisfaction was in helping others in time of need, offering words of wisdom and being a positive force no matter what the circumstances. Her courage, strength, grace and beauty inspired all who knew her. She is survived by her seven children, John M. Klett and his wife Barbara of Berlin, Thomas R. Klett and his wife Laura of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Timothy J. Klett and his wife Doreen of Montgomery, NY, Kevin P. Klett of Boston and Marstons Mills, MA, Harold L. Klett and his wife Shelly of Centerville, MA, Mary Lou Stoneburner and her husband Ted of Rocky Hill, and Kathy M. Gallagher and her husband Brian of Newington; 12 grandchildren, Dalton, Julianne, Daniel, Miranda, Samantha, Brandon, Christopher, Cameron, Connor, Joshua, Rebecca, and Gavin. A brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jeanine Heckman of Fairfax, VA; her uncles, Robert Bergeron of Ohio, Joseph Bergeron of Newington, and Joseph Heckman of New Britain; her mother-in-law, Kathleen (McCaw) Klett of Newington; sister-in-law, Mary K. Ryan of Rutland, VT; three brothers-in-law, Joseph F. Klett and Richard A. Klett and his wife Maureen, all of Newington, and Michael A. Klett and his wife Janet of Wethersfield; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral is Tuesday, May 28, 9 a.m., from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington. Burial will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Calling hours are Monday, May 27, 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
