Edward Carnelli Obituary

Edward A. Carnelli Jr., 66, of Vernon, CT departed this life to join his parents in heaven on Feb. 10, 2023 after a difficult battle with leukemia. Ed was born April 20, 1956 to Edward (Whitey) Carnelli Sr., and Delores (Mary) Carnelli. Raised in Manchester, Ed graduated from Manchester High and Porter and Chester Institute. He leaves his beloved wife, Donna J. Carnelli, his sisters, Lynn Gola and her husband, Greg, and Donna Carnelli, of Florida, Heather Sharp of Vernon, his stepmother, Diane Carnelli of Glastonbury, his aunt Elizabeth Kenyon of Ellington, brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Donna Chamberlain of Suffield, and several nieces and nephews.

Ed was a quiet man with a kind, loving heart and razor-sharp wit. He was affectionately known as "Uncle Ed," to the children in the family. Music was one of Ed's passions. He sang and played guitar in several local bands throughout his life. Ed had an adventurous spirit. He loved hang gliding, jet skiing, and NASCAR racing.

Ed worked at Pratt & Whitney early in his career. He later opened his own home remodeling business, Mid State Home Improvement. Ed never needed to a hire a repairman because he could fix anything.

Relatives and friends may gather with Ed's family on Wed., Feb. 15 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels of Enfield, with a procession forming at the funeral home at 9:30 am to St. Patrick Church, Enfield a for a Mass of Christian burial to begin at 12:00 (noon) on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Burial will take place in St. Patrick King St. Cemetery, Enfield on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the CT Humane Society.

I just learned that Ed was gone today. A good man, friend and musician to name a few of his many qualities. Thought I'd get the chance to jam or hang out one more time. RIP my friend. Peace and Love to all the friends and family.

Donna, and family. I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Ed once, for a home repair quote, and he was a pure gentleman. Very professional, and respectful of my time and property. He was friendly, yet straightforward no beating around the bush and I appreciated that about him. What I will always admire about Donna and Ed's relationship is how music played an important role in their lives. So much so, that they played in several bands together. They say "The family that plays together stays together" and the two of you proved the truth to that saying. My prayer for you Donna as well as for all those who loved Ed is for you to be given strength during this time, and whenever needed. And that you hold on tight to all the wonderful memories shared together. Donna, you are such a sweetheart and I am sure just as you were always by Ed's side and especially when he needed you the most, he is and will be by your side watching over you from the Heavens.

May Ed rest in peace, and God bless you both.

With much love,
Cheryl
