Edward E Cull, Jr., 61, of East Hampton, and formerly of Colchester, passed away at home on January 17, 2020. Born October 20, 1958 in New Haven; he was the son of Edna (O'Reilly) Cull, and the late Edward E Cull, Sr. In 1980, he married the love of his life, Lisa (Franz) Cull. For years, Edward worked as the Vice President of Commercial Banking at Citizens Bank where he was awarded the Small Business Association Advocate. He was a huge sports fan and enjoyed watching his favorite team the Boston Red Sox and the Men and Women's UConn basketball teams. When his children were growing up, he spent countless hours volunteering as a coach for their sports teams. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved to read and play with his grandchildren. He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Lisa Cull of East Hampton; his mother Edna Cull of Hamden; his son Brian and wife Teresa, of Southington, his daughter Laura and husband David Murtagh of Cortlandt Manor, New York; his sisters and their spouses Margaret (Michael) Fitzgerald of New Milford, Edna (Ralph) Karanian of Wethersfield, and Jeanne (John) Stobierski of North Branford; grandchildren Kylie, Elijah, Zoey, and one expected grandchild; his dog Brogan; and numerous extended family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. From 3-5 PM. Sorry to hear of Mr. Cull's passing. He was a neighbor and coach. I still remember his positive words on the baseball field- instilling some needed confidence in a not so confident kid. A great example of what a coach and person should be. Condolences to his family.

Mr. Cull was such a great man. I tried out for the travel soccer team in middle school and didnt make the " A" team. Well, it was a blessing in disguise because Mr. Cull ended up coaching the "B" team. On top of soccer skills, he taught us confidence, how to be a team player and how to work together. I will never forget him for that. Prayers to his family. Rest in peace, Mr. Cull.

I had the pleasure of working with Ed at Citizens Bank and he was always supportive and had a great way about him. I will always remember the story he told of the bill he carried in his wallet and how dedicated he was to his family. Im sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I was fortunate to work with Ed while he was at Citizens. Such a positive person and with such great energy. I never knew that he was so active as a coach/ref but I can see that he carried this mantra forward through his whole life. People liked working with and for him because he brought so much to zest and vigor to the game, continually trying to make the place better.....and he did and always with a smile....... Edward, my brother-in-law, was a wonderful dad, grandfather, uncle, and husband. He always was a very upbeat and positive individual and I always appreciated his company. He left us too soon!
