Edward Kowalczyk Obituary



Edward, T. Kowalczyk, 83, of Middletown and formerly of Forestville, died on Sunday at his home. Ed was born in Middletown, the son of the late Walter and Anna (Kondracki) Kowalczyk. Prior to his retirement, Ed was employed with GM, New Departure Division in the maintenance department. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Army. Ed was a Communicant of Saint Mary of Czestochowa, a member of Saint Kazimierz and the Polish Knights. Ed is survived by one sister, Maryann Markowski of Florida; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased three brothers: Walter Kowalczyk, John Kowalczyk, and Stanley Kowalczyk; and four sisters: Lottie Cyrulik, Helen Hotkowski, Frances Copjec, and Josephine Banulski. Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 10:15 am, from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St, Middletown, followed by an 11 am Funeral Liturgy, in St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home on Thursday, from 5 to 7 pm. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to Soldiers', Sailors' and Marines' Fund, 864 Wethersfield Ave, Hartford, CT 06114.
